I am pleased to offer my original pastel paintings, as well as fine quality limited edition giclee reproductions of selected originals.
To capture light and color with a minimum of detail whether I am painting outdoors on location, or on a still life in my studio. I want to leave a little mystery, engaging the viewer with just enough information about the subject to read it as complete.

Background
After an apprenticeship in stained glass Kathy moved to Alaska to start her own glass studio in 1980. She designed and completed many 1% Public Art projects as well as glass commissions for numerous religious buildings and private homes in Alaska. She moved to Sweden for a year of glass study in the small village of Transjo, in the heart of the Glass Kingdom. Kathy and her husband Rick started a hot glass blowing studio in Crawford Colorado in 1992 and Kathy opened an art school to teach realistic drawing skills to children 4 years old and up from 2001 through 2006. Seeking a simpler life the couple closed the hot glass studio and the art school in 2006.
Kathy paints in oil, pastel and in the medium of kiln formed glass. By working both a designer and artist, she produces architectural art glass and lighting for commercial, residential and public art spaces. She shows and sells her fine art in regional and national shows.
